9 reasons why should you become a recruiter

In this article, I’m going to explain to you nine factors that contribute to my profound sense of appreciation for having taken that decision at the outset of my professional life.

And I will tell you why you should consider making it your career!

Learn, Earn or… Quit

When people ask me, “is it a good time for me to change jobs?” I always use this piece of professional guidance comes from Garry Tan and it basically states that at every job you should either learn, earn or quit.

Therefore, in each and every work, you should either learn something new or earn money; doing both is ideal, doing either is good; but if it’s doing neither, you should quit!

And I am of the firm belief that the staffing industry is one of the few fields in which a young professional may have success in both areas simultaneously.

Earn

Therefore, the primary reason is to make money.

It is an extremely lucrative line of work.

Considering your experience and your age, you will make more money than you ought to be making at this point in your life.

And if you are interested in finding out how much recruitment consultants actually make, you can find more information in this video :

Learn

As I’ve already mentioned, in addition to the money you make, you’ll also pick up some valuable new skills.

You will be exposed to new information on a daily basis, leading to the development of skills that will be invaluable throughout your life.

The staffing agency is, in my opinion, the best school not only for recruitment, which is obvious, but also for sales, for starting your own business, and for your career in general. This is because it is easy to see how knowing the ins and outs of recruitment will be extremely useful in the course of your career.

You will learn sales at a high professional level, and you will develop powerful skills in many different areas, such as communication, business development, competitor analysis, objections handling, negotiation, closing, and so on and so forth.

However, you will also learn so much about business in general, as you will cover so many topics, from designing a strategy to how to organise and prioritise your day.

You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including career counselling, legal work, administrative work, and customer service after the sale.

And perhaps most importantly, it is a career that will teach you a great deal about who you are and the potential that is within you.

It is an experience that will make you grow both as an individual and as a professional. You will come to the realisation that you are capable of doing far more than you ever thought you were.

Staffing agencies hire for attitude and train for skills

The third justification is connected to the second in some way.

They are able to hire for attitude and train for skills due to the fact that the staffing sector is an outstanding school.

And as a direct result of this, they are not afraid to give people an opportunity, even if you do not yet have any experience in the field or if you do not have the appropriate degree, for example.

Meritocracy

And this brings us to the fourth factor, which is the fact that the staffing sector is a meritocracy.

And there are three reasons why I am so grateful for that in particular.

The first benefit is that it teaches you how to place appropriate value on various aspects of one’s life. For example, while the level of education you hold is not the primary focus of my attention at the moment, I wonder if things would be the same if I had begun my professional life in an environment that bases everything, including one’s salary, evolution, and position, on one’s credentials.

Beginning my professional life in an environment that is based on merit instilled in me the importance of valuing the proper things, such as your attitude, your inputs, and the value that you generate.

And as a result of this, we are all aware that we have the same opportunities; however, we are also aware that as a result of this, we cannot take anything for granted, and there will be no bias, no privilege, and no favouritism; this, in turn, reduces salary disparities that are caused by factors such as gender or social background, for example.

And third, working in a meritocracy is incredibly motivating because you are aware that your director, your manager, and your CEO all began their careers in the same position as you did.

Not only does this make their trip easy to empathise with, but it also fostered a sense of community.

I wouldn’t argue that it is a flat structure because if you want to generate opportunities, at some point, we have to build teams; nonetheless, it actually feels like it is a flat structure.

Your company’s upper management will be easy to get in touch with and reach.

You will meet amazing people

And finally, number five, if you were to ask recruiting consultants what they enjoy most about their work, what would they say?

In the top three, you can reliably locate your coworkers and the working environment at all times.

You will have the opportunity to work with influential thought leaders, meet wonderful people from a wide variety of various backgrounds, and form friendships that will last a lifetime.

A job with a purpose

And last, number six, the work that you do serves a purpose.

At the end of the day, even if you go through a variety of emotions while going through the process, the reality is that you help people improve their professional life, and you help companies achieve their goals and grow.

What you do is important.

Unparalleled professional network

And last, number seven, you will develop a network of important contacts.

You will work with some of the most recognisable firms, as well as companies that you have never heard of, and you will meet a wide variety of people that come from a variety of fields and positions. Together, you will advance in your careers.

When you have more experience, you will understand the need of maintaining strong professional relationships even more.

Each day is different

And last, point number eight, each day is unique.

Say farewell to dull days, since from now on, no two days will be the same.

When it comes to recruitment, time really does seem to fly

Great career opportunities within and outside the industry

And nine, not only are recruiters in very high demand, but for all the reasons mentioned in this video, having experience in the staffing industry is highly valued on the job market and can open many doors.

Not only in the realm of sales and recruitment, but also in a great many other industries.
